I was listening to talk radio the other day and the announcer was talking about President Obama visiting an elementary school. Apparently, one of the kids asked the president how he coped with being so hated and said how sorry he was about it. President Obama responded by saying that he DID win the election, so not everybody hates him. I was torn as to whether this response was well or poorly played. What should a public figure be advised to say when he or she is asked about how they are coping with dwindling public approval?

P.S. I’m sure some adults or parents put the child up to this.
